Self-portrait

The Cercle Investor Relations Austria (C.I.R.A.) views itself as a reform movement and recognized lobby, which is supported by its member companies as a form of self-help group. Its goals are to continuously improve, internationalize and professionalize the Investor Relations field. Through joint events the C.I.R.A. provides its members with a round-table for the discussion of ideas and exchange of information. The activities of the C.I.R.A. are designed to optimize relations between the relevant areas of capital market communications (institutional investors, financial analysts and private investors, as well as the business and financial media) in and other countries.

Activities

The Cercle Investor Relations Austria (C.I.R.A.) conducts a number of workshops each year on subjects that are important to capital markets. Symposia, company presentations and informal dialogues are also organized. So-called flash surveys are used to determine members' opinions on specific issues, and form a coordinated basis for discussions and lobbying activities. This has enabled the C.I.R.A. to serve as a competent partner and co-initiator for a wide range of Austrian capital market reforms in recent years (stock exchange reform, Austrian law on share buybacks, regulations for the preparation of consolidated financial statements, privatization of Wiener Börse AG, XETRA connection etc.). The C.I.R.A. maintains close contacts with a large number of university institutes in and supports scientific research on capital market subjects. It also interacts with other institutions such as the Austrian Stock Forum ("Österreichische Aktienforum") and the Austrian Association for Financial Analysis and Investment Consulting ("Österreichischen Vereinigung für Finanzanalyse & Anlageberatung") in a wide variety of areas.
